How this is calculated
A load is worth taking when what is left after costs beats your alternative.
- Start with the all-in rate per mile: what the load pays divided by loaded plus deadhead miles, because the empty miles to the pickup burn the same diesel as the loaded ones.
- Fuel comes off first: miles divided by your MPG, times the price at the pump.
- Then your fixed costs: insurance, the truck payment, repairs and permits, at whatever a mile of that costs you. Clear the field to score before fixed costs.
- What is left is your margin, and margin is most of the score; the deadhead share of the trip makes up the rest.
- In the full app the score also reads the rate against your own lane history and how fast the broker actually pays.

Is this load worth taking?
Divide what it pays by every mile it makes you drive, then take out fuel. If what is left beats what a mile costs you to run, it is worth a look. This checker does that math and turns it into a score and a plain verdict.
Where does the score come from?
Four things, weighted: your margin after fuel and your fixed costs, the rate quality, how much of the trip is empty miles, and the broker when known. The formula is deterministic, so the same load always scores the same.
Is the market rate real?
There is no market rate here, on purpose. Calculators that show one usually synthesize it from your own input. This checker only uses numbers you typed, and inside iTrucked the benchmark is your own lane history or an anonymized network of real carrier loads, always labeled.
